The plaster pinks edit

Pink is one of the most misread colours in a room. Too much saturation and it reads sweet. Too cool and it tips clinical. The pinks that actually work are the ones that have been through something — aged by sun, dusted with chalk, warmed with stone.

These four are from that quieter end of the spectrum. Each one takes its name from a place where pink appears not as a statement but as a condition of the light — where terracotta meets plaster, where the evening sky bleeds into warm stone. The kind of pink that feels inevitable rather than chosen.

Córdoba Blush is the softest of the four. Inspired by the sun-faded courtyards of Andalusia, where centuries of heat have drained colour down to something barely-there and utterly beautiful. It reads almost as a warm white in bright rooms, and as a gentle flush in north-facing light. A bedroom colour at its core.

Istanbul Dusk arrives at that particular moment when the sky over the Bosphorus loses its blue and becomes something between clay and rose. It is more definite than Córdoba Blush — you know it is pink — but still muted enough to sit comfortably with timber, linen, and aged brass.

Santiago Sunset carries more warmth than the others. The light that falls across Santiago in the evening has orange in it — the Andes catch it and throw it back. On a wall, this translates to a golden pink that leans terracotta in low light and apricot in full sun. The most confident of the four, and the one most likely to change the feel of a room entirely.

Marrakech Spice closes the edit on a deeper note. The souks of Marrakech are full of this colour — spice stalls, painted riads, worn plaster over ancient brick. It has red in it, and a richness that rewards evening light. Use it in a dining room, a hallway, or anywhere a room is meant to feel enveloping rather than airy.

All four are available as sample pots from £5.50, or as part of The Plaster Pinks bundle — four samples, one order, free delivery.
